Grazing Board Tips

Company is coming over and you want to wow them with a spread. The benefits of grazing boards and platters is that you can prepare everything in advance and truly enjoy relaxing and eating your way across the platter.

Here are some TIPS to making the perfect grazing board:

1. Choose a platter or board that will look full but not cramped for the amount of people you are feeding (this was a party of 4).

2. Pick a variety of colours and textures. Creamy Brie, fresh crisp veggies, crostini, etc.

3. Use grazing boards as a way to use up odds and ends. Last few cookies or pickled beans add them!

4. Ensure there is something sweet, salty, savoury to play with the palate and gives everyone something to lure company in.

5. Use fresh herbs and flowers as filler to make the board look full.

6. Have fun and use this as a great way to taste a new fave wine or try a small piece of a cheese you’ve always wanted to.

7. Explore your local markets, bakeries and local shops for unique items to try. A new preserve, a specialty cheese, or some local fresh veggies can truly make a board pop!

8. Don’t over think it. It’s all about bringing things together. People and food. It’s a beautiful thing. Emcrace it.

9. Celebrate themes - create fun holidays boards to celebrate occasions and holidays. Candy hearts and chocolate dipped strawberries for Valentine’s, or vibrant colours for a celebratory event. Let the food do the talking. (See picture above).
