You’re probably here because you have an abundance of apples and are looking for an easy way to use them! This was a very simple way to make homemade apple sauce and you can even do it with the kids!
Making homemade apple sauce is also a great way to use blemished or dented apples - you know the ones your kids dropped and have a soft spot now. Those are perfect for this recipe.

TOOLS NEEDED:
1. Crock Pot
2. Spatula
3. Mesh strainer
4. Mixing bowl
5. Measuring cup and spoons
RECIPE BELOW:
Crock Pot Cinnamon Apple Sauce
INGREDIENTS
6-9 apples (I also use a pear or two)
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1-2 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp lemon juice

DIRECTIONS
1. Cut apples in half or quarters and put in the crock pot.
2. Add water, sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. Cover the pot with the lid.
3. Turn the Crock Pot on medium and cook for 4hrs.
4. With the mesh strainer in a metal bowl; pour the apple mixture into the strainer.
5. Use a spatula or spoon to press the apples through the mesh.
6. Enjoy your apple sauce warm or chilled. Store in your fridge for up to 1 week.
ALTERNATE METHOD: You can peel and core the apples before they go into the crock pot and doing so will alleviate the strainer step.
CANNING: I have not attempted to preserve it for long term storage and do not want to provide inaccurate information that may put you or your family at risk.
