Honestly this is a lot easier than you think to make. It’s a great crowd pleasing salad and a good one to take to a gathering ( just add the crunchy topping when serving to keep it crisp). I love the crunch of the almonds and noodles with the sweet sesame dressing. It's a family favourite recipe and I was happy playing with this to get the ratios right using honey instead of sugar like many other recipes call for. Once you get the basics down you can add so much to this to make it your own. Add in things like edamame, hot sauce, grilled proteins including shrimp and chicken. The opportunities are endless. Give it a try and you will please the masses with this simple recipe.

Easy Cabbage Asian Slaw with Ramen - Recipe
INGREDIENTS
1 small head of cabbage
4-5 green onions (scallions)
1 carrot
1/4 cup butter
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1 package ramen noodles uncooked
1/4 cup diced or slivered almonds.
DRESSING
1/2 cup sesame oil
1/3 cup rice vinegar
1/3 cup honey
1 tbsp soy sauce
DIRECTIONS
Shave or dice cabbage. Thin small works best. I use any type of cabbage (whatever’s in stock or looks fresh). Dice carrot and onion. Combine carrot, cabbage and onion in a bowl. Set aside.
In a frying pan or skillet melt butter. Add crushed ramen, almonds and sesame seeds. Cook until lightly browned. Set aside.
In a small bowl combine oil, vinegar, honey and soy sauce. Mix until blended. Add to cabbage mixture and mix.
When you are about to serve add the noodles and nuts and mix. Serve.
