You’ve found the right page if your looking to make your own bbq sauce for your next grilled feast. This basic recipe can be made using Dr.Pepper, Coca Cola or even Root Beer.
THICKNESS
If you want a thicker sauce simmer the sauce for a few minutes longer. I like the sauce to be fluid when I dip wings and chicken drum sticks for a glossy glaze.
WHAT TO USE THIS SAUCE ON
This sauce is delicious on grilled chicken, ribs and even pork chops. Try it as a glaze when you’re finishing your next rack or smoked ribs.
DR. PEPPER BARBECUE SAUCE
RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
1 cup ketchup
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
1/2 TBSP Paprika
1 TBSP yellow mustard
1 tsp ground pepper
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 cup Dr.Pepper
WANT IT 🌶️- add 1/2 tsp chipotle powder (optional and not shown)
DIRECTIONS
In a small pot combine all ingredients and cook on low/medium heat bringing sauce to a rolling boil for 5 minutes. Stirring occasionally.
Let cool before storing in a jar.
Keep refrigerated.
Best used within one month.
